Barbara Brown Arnold, age 90, of Cartersville, GA, passed away on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. She was born on June 8, 1934, in Dawsonville, AL, to Luther and Nannie Brown. Barbara grew up on Sand Mountain, AL, where she graduated from Geraldine High School.

In December of 1951, she moved to Acworth, GA, with her husband, Johnny Mack Johnston, to start a family, raising four children together. Barbara worked as a rural mail carrier at the Acworth Post Office for 26 years until her retirement, after which she enjoyed her rose gardens and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a devoted member of Rowland Springs Baptist Church, where she cherished her church family.

In 2004, Barbara married her husband, Randy Stevens. Together, they enjoyed cheering on her beloved Atlanta Braves whenever they could.

Barbara is preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Margie Thomas and Lucille Duke; brothers, Dee Brown, Leonard Brown, and Gordon Brown; and her beloved daughter, Janet Johnston Cox.

She is survived by her husband, Randy Stevens; her children: Johnny (Renee) Johnston, David (Patti) Johnston, and Cindy (Thomas) Glawson. Barbara also leaves behind her 10 grandchildren: Angela Feldman, Jodi Coren, Kyle Johnston, Jordan Johnston, Chad Davis, Luke Davis, Mac Davis, Adam Davis, Katie Jones, and Greg Glawson, as well as her 19 great-grandchildren: Marley Coren, Logan Haner, Zach Feldman, Hailey Bennett, Ashley Feldman, Matthew Johnston, Allie Grace Johnston, Natasha Davis, Ty Davis, Sasha Allen, Bailey Davis, Taylor Maddox, Bentley Davis, Katie Anne Jones, SJ Jones, Caroline Glawson, Owen Glawson, and Henry Glawson. She also had 5 great-great-grandchildren: Bear Allen, Everly Haner, Easton Haner, Brooks Haner, and Addie Bennett, and a host of cherished nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends.
