On January 13, 2021 Bernard “Barney” Watt passed peacefully at home in Acworth, GA at age 75 after a long battle with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.  He was born at San Diego Naval Hospital to Ray and Betty Watt on December 12, 1945.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Betty and Ray, biological father, Bernard Knettel, and grandmother, Rene Epach.

Barney graduated from Glenbrook North High School in Northbrook, IL in 1964.  He then joined the Air Force and was proud to serve his country in Vietnam.  He was active in the military from 1965 thru 1968, and was in the Reserves till 1971.  He worked in sales in the steel industry for 35 years.

Barney loved God, family, and his country.  One of his passions was cars, especially street rods, and also loved and rode motorcycles.  He had a bigger-than-life personality and was loved by so many wonderful friends, and especially his family.  We are thankful that he is at peace and no longer struggling to breathe, but we will miss him terribly every day.
