Betty Jean Capps Lee born May 16, 1933, in Mecklenburg, Virginia passed from this life into eternal rest on October 11, 2022. She was the only child of Luther Capps and Annie Smiley Satterwhite and step-father Murray Jackson Satterwhite, all of who preceded her in death.  She was married to Bernard Earle Lee whom she shared 3 children Betty Anne Pearce (Jimmy) Mooresville, NC, Linda Lee Hawkins, Chester, VA, and Terri Lee Phillips, Cartersville, GA. She had five grandchildren: James Todd Pearce, Traci Anne Pearce, David Lee Hawkins, II, Benjamin Tucker Willis, and Alexandra Nicole Willis Griffith. She was blessed with 3 great-grandchildren: Aubrey Pearce, Mason Pearce, and newly arrived Merritt Sage Willis. Betty in GA, Jean in VA, lived most of her life in Chesterfield County until moving to GA in 1999.  She loved the Garden Club, dancing, playing cards, and spending time with her grandchildren.  Her overall purpose was to care for her children. She lived her last year and a half at Maple Ridge Nursing Home in Cartersville, GA. Prior to that, she lived for 22 years with Terri and her family. In lieu of flowers, please give them to the Alzheimer’s Society or the nonprofit of your choice.  A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, October 23rd at 2:00 pm, Starlight Pavilion at Pine Acres Retreat, 3963 Bartow Carver Road, SE Acworth, GA.  Please leave condolences for the family at www.GeorgiaFuneralCare.com .
