Carl Wallace Stapleton, Jr., age 69, resident of Kennesaw, GA; born in Birmingham, AL on September 20, 1947, passed away on January 15, 2017. He was preceded in death by his father Carl Wallace Stapleton, Sr.

Carl joined the Navy in 1965 and afterwards he had a career in transportation as a Corporate Pilot; trucking business as an Owner/Operator; and construction; with his most recent position as a Tower Crane Operator for Batson-Cook, Atlanta, GA, before retiring. He was also a member of Highlands’ United Methodist Church in Birmingham, AL for many years.

He is survived by his partner in life and mate, Judy C. Stapleton of Kennesaw, GA; mother Anne M. Stapleton of Winterboro, AL; brother Richard L. Stapleton of Marietta, GA; sisters-Julie A. Stapleton of Huntsville, AL; A. Rebecca Stapleton of Birmingham, AL; and Robin M. Leaptrott of Neptune Beach, FL; acknowledged step-children Keith Marshall of Moody, AL; Jim Ramsey of Ball Ground, GA; Kelli Hartley of Savannah, GA; and step-grand children-Mason, Miles and Tatum Ramsey; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved cats “Pepper and Princess”.

An invitation to a “Celebration of Carl’s Life” to be held and location determined at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cancer Home, 760 Pollard Avenue, Atlanta, GA 30315.
