Curtis Gray was born October 29, 1953, to the late Ms. Louise Gray of Gray, Georgia and Father Frank Jones Sr. He departed this life on March 28, 2025.
Curtis enjoyed his early years being raised by his Maternal grandparents, the late Eddie & Bessie Gray. He was encouraged by his older sister Christine Gray to profess his hope in Christ at an early age, where he joined and was baptized at Mount Salem Baptist Church in Jones County Georgia. Even through years of illness and declining health, his faith in the Lord prevailed. He dedicated his life to serving the lord and as life moved him through different communities along the way, he continued this journey through several different loving Church homes until he was called to leave this earth.
Curtis started his high school ventures at Maggie Califf High School, and once desegregation was instituted, he went on to attend and graduate from Jones County High. Curtis went on to attend Tuskegee Institute where he pledged Alpha Phi Alpha and met his son’s mother. In 1978, before graduation Curtis decided to join the United States Airforce and began a 23+ year career - 13 years active and 10+ years in reserves working as a Training Technician, completing his degree at Regents University in Business Administration. Master Sergeant Curtis travelled the world, blessed to live in places such as Germany, Panama, California and the Azores. Curtis finished his Military career as a reservist, stationed at the 22nd command on Dobbins Airforce Base in Marietta, Georgia. Curtis also entered corporate America while in the reserves spending time in Customer Service and Sales with Bell South Mobility and then moved over to Finance for several years at TransAmerica, now currently GE, until his retirement in 2009.
Curtis has spent his retirement as a Member of Toastmasters, traveling and helping his wife in the care of his in-laws Gerald and Jacqueline Bell. His favorite activity was spending time with his Grandson Sean (known as "My Big Bug").
Curtis was preceded by his Sister Christine Gray (2023) and Brother Cotice Bryant. Curtis is survived by (Wife) Diane Gray, (Daughter) Amanda Duhart, (Son) Rodney Knollwood & (Grandson) Sean Guerre.
