Donald Anthony Koshko

May 26, 1972 — October 13, 2020

Donald Anthony Koshko of Marietta, GA died unexpectedly on October 13, 2020.

Don was born May 26, 1972 in Clarence, PA the son of Donald J. and Gloria (Fenush) Koshko.  He graduated from Bald Eagle High School in Wingate, PA and attended Penn State DuBois in Dubois, PA.  In 1992 Don moved to the warmer climate in Georgia.  He was employed by Sysco Food Systems of Atlanta as an Ammonia and Refrigeration Technician for over 20 years.

He met and married his best friend and fellow Pennsylvania transplant Brigid O’Hara on May 23, 1998.

Coach Don was a mentor to many young men and women in the area, but he especially loved coaching his beloved children in baseball, basketball, and softball.  When not wearing his coaching hat, he could be found volunteering his time and talents to building and repairing the fields, concessions, and the locker rooms for the teams.  He was a Board Member of the Sandy Plains Softball Association and Shaw Park Baseball Association.  His presence on the fields, especially his infectious smile will surely be missed by all.  Don’s “East Cobb Edge Koshko” softball team will continue to play in his honor.  And the “coach” will surely be watching from above and rooting them on to victory!

In his free time, he enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting and fishing and was an avid fan of the Seattle Seahawks, Atlanta Braves and Penn State football.

He was proceeded in death by his in laws, James F. and Rosemary O’Hara.

Don is survived by his parents, his wife and children Bryce and Morgan, his sister Tracy Boone PhD  (David) and their son Carter, brother Mark Koshko, VMD (Kristen) and their daughters Madison and Olivia, as well as his sister in law Colleen M O’Hara, brother in law Michael O’Hara and his daughter Shelby and many aunts, uncles and cousins and numerous friends.

Funeral services will be announced at a later date.

Brigid, Bryce, and Morgan want to extend a huge thank you to all the friends, family, coaches and players for their beautiful texts, notes, tributes, and love during this extremely difficult time.  And special thank you to the staff and fellow parishioners at Transfiguration Catholic Church for their immense love and support.
