Dorothy Ann “Dot” Otott

March 29, 1943 — January 24, 2017

Mrs. Dorothy Ann “Dot” Otott, daughter of the late Louise and Harold Vaughan, was born on March 29, 1943, in Concordia, Kansas. She attended Concordia Catholic High School, and Marymount College, where she received her Bachelors Degree in Nursing.

She was united in marriage for 53 years to her high school sweetheart, William L. Otott, Sr., also of Concordia, Kansas. They were blessed with two children.

Dot was a dedicated daughter, wife, mother, and friend. She had an unshakeable faith and was an active member of the Catholic Church. As a nurse, she cared for thousands of others with the same love and affection she showered on her family. She was always there for a friend in need, and had a truly adventurous spirit. She dearly loved her husband, children, and three grandchildren.

She quietly departed life on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at Tranquility at Kennesaw Mountain in Marietta, Georgia. A private memorial service will be held for family members.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her family. She is survived by her husband, William L. Otott, Sr.; son William (Bill) Otott, Jr. and daughter-in-law Amy Allison Otott of Roswell, Georgia; son Brian Otott and daugher-in-law Sally Otott of Acworth, Georgia; brother Jim Vaughan and sister-in-law Valarie Vaughan of Springfield, Missouri; and most especially her grandchildren, Emory, Chase, and Amelia Claire.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given in her name to the American Diabetes Association .
