Our beloved Hank died on Oct. 18, 2017 of heart failure at Kennestone Hospital. He was 59 years old. Born on June 9th, 1958 in Atlanta,Ga. Hank is preceded in death by his father, Lamar Blackmon. He is survived by his son, Trey Blackmon and fiancé, Olivia Suddarth of Acworth;daughter, Lindsey Blackmon of Canton; mother Joyce Barrett and step-father,Buddy Barrett of Talking Rock; sister Holly Ziegler (Rick) of Canton; nephew, Ethan Ziegler of Acworth; niece Patience Ziegler of Canton;
and uncle Bob Yarbrough of Vidalia, Ga. Also, special boyhood friends, Johnny Pike, Steve Selvie, and Jeff Shinholster. And countless friends from every aspect of his life. Hank was a Christian and of the Baptist faith.
From the age of 12 Hank spent the rest of his life in Marietta. He graduated from Sprayberry High School in 1976. He was, by vocation, a machinist and by passion a musician. He also had a passion for coaching little league baseball which he did for 13 years with his son Trey's team.
He was a self-taught musician and began in the familybasement with his boyhood friends. His expertise was base guitar and alsoplayed acoustical guitar, harmonicas, a little keyboard. He loved"jamming" with friends. He also loved golfing with these samefriends.
Hank began his machinist career with Burrelco, later with Lockheed, and presently with Quality Aircraft Tooling.
Hank will be cremated, and plans are being made for a celebration of his life. These plans, when completed, will be announced on Hank's Face book page. All friends are invited.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2017, 2 PM, at NorthStar Church, 3413 Blue Springs Rd, Kennesaw, GA, 30144.
