Helen Lucy (Tomasino) Nemier was born October 26, 1921, in Syracuse, New York, to Joseph and Grace Tomasino. Helen completed high school in 1934 in Jordan, New York, and went on to complete business school post-graduation. Helen worked in various business related positions in nearby Rochester and Syracuse in addition to Denver, Colorado before meeting and marrying her husband Asa Nemier in 1950. Helen and family moved to the Daytona Beach area in 1962, where Helen resided until 1998, when she moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, to live with her oldest son’s family. The family relocated to Fort Worth, Texas, in 2002, and eventually to the Atlanta area in 2014. Helen passed away on December 24, 2016 in Woodstock, Georgia.
Helen enjoyed reading, letter writing, and bible study. Over her life she was active in various civic and church activities. Helen was also active in sports during her early life, participating as a pitcher on a women’s softball team in her late teens. Helen was also active in a bowling league in Daytona Beach where she once rolled a near perfect game of 296.
Helen is survived by her three children and their spouses, one sister, six grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 3pm on Saturday, February 4, 2017, at Family Worship Center, 4425 S Ridgewood Ave, Port Orange, Florida, and is open to all friends and family.
