Irvine Rankin Caswell Jr

“Say not in grief that he is no more’ but in thankfulness that he was”

With a heavy heart we announce, Irvine Rankin Caswell Jr, Beloved Husband, Father, Stepfather, Brother & Grandfather to many has passed. Fittingly, his soul journeyed forward on July 4th, 2024 after a valiant, hard fought battle with cancer. He was known as a consummate gentleman and a man of Honor, Loyalty & Service. Born June 25, 1935 in Lexington, Kentucky to Irvine Rankin Caswell Sr. & Georgia May Stump, Irvine graduated from Henry Clay High School in 1953, before moving to Washington, DC where he worked for the FBI.

In 1955 he joined the Air Force and would go on to become a career military man serving during the Vietnam Crisis, many places around the world and in the United States until he retired in 1975. Irvine was also a member of the Grand Lodge of Kentucky. He enjoyed Travel, in particular a road trip, his blue truck, dancing, playing games & spending precious time with family & friends.

Irvine is Survived by his Wife of 44 years Lois Arthur Caswell, His brother Martin Caswell (Nancy) children Michael Caswell (Mary Lou), Heidi Caswell Hays (Jerry) & Candy Caswell (Simon) his step Children Michael Arthur (Sydney) & Amy Venn (David). He was Poppy to Christopher (Holly), Christy Lynn (Dustin), Michael (Shoko), Tiffany, Courtney (Steven), Dashiell & Morgan, Rachel & Emily Grace. He has 7 Great Grand kids & 1 Great Great Grandchild. He was preceded in death by Brothers Lawrence Caswell, Jack Caswell, Sister Evaree Thomas, Daughter Sylvia “Rocky” Walters (Roger) & step son John Arthur.

A distinguished man, defined by family and service, our hearts and souls will be full with his memories to share & carry on through our many generations.

Please come join us to celebrate his life ~ Funeral services will be held at Georgia Funeral Care, 4671 S. Main Street, Acworth, Georgia 30101, 10am - 12pm, Funeral beginning at Noon. There will be a Military Escort to the Georgia National Cemetery, 2025 Mount Carmel Church Lane, Canton, Georgia 30114. Family under the care of Georgia Funeral Care, Acworth, GA.
