It is with heavy hearts that the family of Wilma Jean Ratcliff Bramlett, age 57 of Acworth, GA announce her death at home in the early hours of Saturday July 13, 2024.
Jean was born on July 14, 1966 in Dalton, GA to parents Benjamin Franklin "Bennie" Ratcliff and Carol Ann Waters Ratcliff of Spring Place, GA. Jean's older brother, Zyndall, was born three years before her. Her parents and brother preceded her in death.
Jean graduated from Murray County High School. She received an Associate's degree from Dalton Junior College while working a full-time and part-time job. She obtained her Bachelor's degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management in 2023 from Georgia Highlands College while working full time. She was accepted into the Master's Program at Kennesaw State University before her cancer diagnosis. Jean worked as the Office Manager for the School of Instructional Technology and Innovation at KSU. A job she loved and continued to do from the hospital bed a day after major back surgery. On August 8, 1992, Jean married Michael Bramlett after a four-year "engagement." The couple moved to
Tuscaloosa for two years, before settling in Huntsville, Alabama for 9 years, and finally moved to Acworth where they remained for 21 years until her passing. The couple have two children Elle Bramlett (25) and Mars Bramlett (22) both of Acworth. Jean is also survived by her nephew Michael Ratcliff and niece Megan Ratcliff Winkler and husband Rodney Winkler both of Murray County Georgia. Jean is also survived by aunts and uncles and cousins. Jean loved her family and friends and was an avid user of social media to stay in contact with them. She gathered people from childhood, schools, jobs, and various churches to form lifelong friendships across the years. She was a wonderful wife and devoted mother to her children. She has been a small business owner and church member. She loved to shop for a good bargain. Her favorite place was the beach where she loved to collect shells.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Georgia Funeral Care in Acworth, GA. The celebration of life service will start at 3:00 pm followed by a light reception at Brookwood Christian School. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to
