Jimmy Lee Robertson was born on April 11, 1947 to Henry Robertson and Ada Hickson. He was raised by his grandmother, Sarah Jordan, whom he loved deeply. The most important of the many things she taught him was to love Jesus and Jim was always aware of and grateful for the many provisions in his life. His favorite phrase was “thank you, Jesus”. Jim proudly served his country in Vietnam as a member of the Army, although he was reluctant to talk about it because it was such a difficult time. He was the baritone/bass for the singing group, the Young Divines along with Donald Render, John Dawson, and John Johnson. They had several popular songs including “Ain’t That Sharp” and “I’ll Show You with Love”.
Jim loved sports, especially Braves baseball and the Georgia Bulldogs. He loved music. Jazz, Blues and Motown were favorites and he would sing along, adding his rich bass. He worked for Bridge to Grace church for over 35 years caring for the facility and grounds. Jim entered into eternal life on November 29, 2024. He is survived by many relatives in the Atlanta area including brother Vernon Broughton and cousin James Lee. Jimmy was a loyal friend who always remembered to ask about what was important to those he loved. He was also a fierce prayer warrior, interceding for those in need, whether he knew them or not. He will be missed until we see him again. Services are as follows:
