John Kibbey Prickett passed away on Tuesday, March 13th, 2018. Mr. Prickett was born on the family farm on January 18, 1945 near Wilmington, Ohio to Naomi (Gossett) Prickett and J. Delmer Prickett both deceased. Mr. Prickett was married to Barbara (Bradley) Prickett in 1963. They were married for 30 years and had two Children, Jeffrey (Teresa) Prickett of Greenville, OH and Pam ( George Walton ) Prickett of Northern Kentucky. He also had two grandchildren- Meagan Kirkland and Jordan Prickett and is also survived by a brother Larry (Diane) Prickett & many nieces and nephews. In his teen years Mr. Prickett was a youth ministry leader at New Antioch Church of Christ. Here he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior which lead to a life long faith in God. He graduated from Wilmington High School in 1963 were he was involved in band and musicals. He served in the US Army from 1963-1967 during which time he spent 13 months deployed in Korea along the DMZ. Most of his adult life he spent working in Agriculture where he made many friends and respected colleagues. Mr. Prickett retired to Florida in 2002 where he eventually settled along the Sopchoppy River with his special lady friend Mary K Ress. In the last few years of his life, he resided in Young Harris, Georgia where he enjoyed living in the Northern Georgia Mountains with a view overlooking Chatuge Lake. Mr. Prickett was preceded in death by his siblings Daryl (Chad) Prickett- & Joyce Richmond (Charles). He will be remembered as a kind and good man with a great smile who never knew a stranger. He loved his family, God and Country. He will be missed! A private grave side service will be held at a later date with his final resting place being New Antioch Cemetery.
