Margaret Hamm Hogue, age 72, retired healthcare worker and real estate salesperson. Born to James Robert Hamm and Margaret Aileen Blair at Moody Hospital in Dothan, Alabama. Hogue met her husband of 52- years when she was just 15-years old. The soulmates met on a blind date set up by her brothers and his cousin. They married when she was 17 and he was 20, after he returned from Vietnam in 1969. Hogue was the first member of her family to attend college. She was a loyal career Army Officer’s wife as well as a loving mother and Nana, who always put others before herself.
Mrs. Hogue enjoyed a career in healthcare at both Wellstar and Northside hospital systems. She left healthcare in 1994 to enjoy a second career as a real estate salesperson, working side-by-side with her husband as one of America’s Realty top husband-wife sales teams. Although she enjoyed taking care of others and helping people find their dream homes, Hogue’s favorite job was being a fun-loving Nana to her two grandsons.
Margaret Hogue passed away from cancer on March 31, 2025. She is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Hogue, and her brothers James Hamm and Rick Hamm. She is survived by her two daughters, Barbara Rape and Mikki Dixon, as well as her two grandsons, Andrew and Tyler Rape. Although she is gone, her loving nature, self-sacrifice, bravery, and determination will endure in the hearts of all who loved her. Hogue will be laid to rest with her husband at the Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, GA.
