Mary Magdalene Arnold, age 87 of Cartersville, Georgia, passed away Sunday, December 9, 2018, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born on August 31, 1931 in Floyd County, Georgia. She was a dairy farmer, worked at Cartersville Medical Center in the dietary department, and later retired from E-Z Mills. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Adolphus “Dock” Ortiz, Isadora Padgett Ortiz and her sister Brenda Ortiz. Mrs. Arnold is survived by her sister, Barbara “Bobbie” Ortiz of Rome, GA, and her brother, Carl (Linda) Ortiz of Van Buren, AR. Her children include Steve Arnold, Gale (John) Geurin, Dale (Ennis) Denham, Mark (Janet) Arnold, and Sherry (Phillip) DeWitte. “Mawmaw’s” beloved grandchildren include Pearson King, Trina (Tim) Mills, Gayla (Katie) King Jackson, Ericka (Justin) Hamner, Brittany Barefoot, Gretchen (Ryan) Barstow, Brook (Curtis) Shields, Stormy (Codi) Owens, Jade (Tiffany) Arnold, and Tracy (Jeremy) Godfrey. Also, included, are 17 great-grand children, along with many nieces and nephews. Surviving sisters-in-law include Madedlyn Arnold, Ruth Tidwell, and Edna Wynn.
A memorial service, celebrating Magdalene’s life will be held on Saturday, December 15th, at Grace Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m., with the Rev. Ralph Jenkins officiating. The family will receive visitors from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., prior to the Memorial Service
