Mary Martin Jenkins, a devoted friend, loving wife, and fiercely independent spirit, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2024, at the age of 75. Born on August 1, 1949, Mary embraced life with adventure, laughter, and a deep kindness that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Ernee, as she was affectionately known to everyone, was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Charles Jenkins, with whom she shared many happy years filled with love and partnership. Her loyalty to her friends was unmatched, and she cultivated a close circle of relationships that brought immense joy and meaning to her life. Ernee’s vibrant personality and genuine care for others made her a treasured presence in the lives of all who knew her.

Ernee's greatest joy came from her family. She is survived by her beloved son, David Payne, and his wife, Thersa Payne, as well as her daughter, Pepper Murphy. Ernee deeply cherished her three beautiful granddaughters: Mary Payne, Tanya Payne, and Alexis Payne. She was overjoyed to know a great-granddaughter was on the way, adding to the legacy of love she leaves behind. Ernee is also survived by her brother, John Burns, and her loving sister, Kay Albertelli, along with nieces Angie, Denise, and Stephanie. Ernee’s heart was always filled with love, and she held hope for peace and harmony in all her relationships.

Ernee’s willful determination, fun-loving nature, and adventurous soul defined her life. She approached challenges with grace and an unyielding spirit. Her kindness extended to everyone she met, and her generosity and willingness to help will not be forgotten.
