December 30, 1934 – December 1, 2024
Mary Judith Hill Brewer “Judy” age 89 of Doraville, Georgia passed away peacefully in her sleep Sunday, December 1, 2024.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 – 11:30 on Monday, December 9, 2024 prior to the service at the Cowan Historic Mill. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 on December 9, 2024 at the Cowan Historic Mill located at 4271 Southside Dr, Acworth, GA 30101.
Judy was a native of Clayton, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Clyde Hill, Sr. and Mary Lou (Harper) Hill. After marriage Judy moved to the Atlanta area and eventually called Doraville her home for over 50 years. This is where she raised her four daughters and continued to call it home after her children were grown. The last few years of her life were spent at Celebration Village in Acworth so that she could be closer to family. There she made friends with residents and many healthcare workers who all loved and adored her sense of humor and candor. She is loved and adored by all who came in contact with her.
Judy’s most important job was being a mother, daughter, and sister. She worked in payroll to provide for her family but her true joy was always her family. She was so proud to be one of the Hill children and mother of four. If you spent any time talking with her, she would always talk about her mother and father and all of her siblings in addition to her children and grandchildren. Her family was her pride and joy.
Judy is survived by her daughters, Kristi Campbell (Norman) of Powder Springs, Georgia; Kelley Shaffer (Byron) of Loganville, Georgia. Grandchildren, Karen Price, Jamie Shaffer, Morgan Campbell, Savannah Fox (Matthew), Chandler Campbell, Rachel Roberts (Kobi), Emily Hyndman (Max). Great Grandchildren, Cole Price, Kyle Price, Stella Sorrells, Brooklyn Fox, Addison Roberts, Clayton Lane, Hallie Fox, Sister, Jane Young (Michael). She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Mary Lou, her sisters, Edith Faulk, Ann Roberts, Dorothy Fricks, and brother, Clyde Hill, Jr. and daughter Kathy Buie and son-in-law, Dennis Buie.
The family kindly request in lieu of flowers donations be made in her memory to the Holiday Fund for the healthcare workers at Celebration Village where Judy spent the last five years. You may either donate cash or check made out to Residents Council Holiday Fund. The family will have a donation box at the celebration of life services which will be delivered to Celebration Village.
