Mary Marlene Miller
Marlene died unexpectedly Friday morning January 3, 2025, in her sleep while at her daughter’s home in
Elijah, GA. She had been disabled for many years with health issues most recently lung cancer. She was
born May 16, 1960, in Cartersville Georgia the third daughter of the late George Ellis Craig and the late
Mary Ingram Craig Cochran.
In spite of her health problems, it was typical to find Marlene with a huge smile and willing heart to be
with her family and friends in any activity she was able to do and when unable to participate was
content to just be present with them to watch or ride along. She loved music and since early childhood
loved to dance. Whether up and about, in a chair or in the bed Marlene was always moving, sometimes
even in her sleep. It was like she was playing a song in her mind. She adapted to her physical limitations
teaching herself to play the piano and guitar and was very accomplished with the challenging electronic
game of Mahjongg City Tours.
Marlene is preceded in death by her husband David Miller, her parents George and Mary, her older
infant sister Judy Ann, her grandparents and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Marlene is survived by her three children: David Craig (Jennifer) Acworth, GA, Deann Serrano (Antonio)
Elijah, GA, Tray Hale (Michelle) Cleveland, TN; nine grandchildren: David Craig, II (Ashley), George Craig
II, (Haley), Kaylob Craig (Sarah), LaCrissa Miller-Nicholson (Jamie), Jennifer Kneas-Taylor (Andy), A.J.
Miller (Kyrsten), Cheyenne Serrano-Baker (Zach), Selena Serrano, (roommate Olivia) and Zoie Hale. She
also has 18 great grandchildren; and, yes with all these “grands” she absolutely loved to be called
“Granny”!!! She is also survived by her older sister Patricia “Pat” Craig of Cleveland TN; along with
numerous aunts, uncles and cousins all from the Cartersville Area.
