Lois May Truran

Lois May Truran, 93 of Dallas, Georgia passed away at WellStar Paulding Hospital on Thursday May 14, 2020 of natural causes. Lois was born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts on January 29, 1927 to Millie Dean Bunt Kiligas and August Kiligas. She graduated from Pittsfield High School and Berkshire Business College. Lois was married to Allen G. Truran Jr. of Pittsfield, Massachusetts on November 27, 1956.

Lois performed as a professional vocalist and actress appearing in Broadway shows "Call Me Mister" and "Song of Norway". She sang with the Robert Shaw Chorale and toured as Frasquita in "Carmen" with The London Grand Opera Company. Lois was the featured vocal artist performing with the Art Mooney, Hal McIntyre and Henry Jerome Orchestras as well as alongside her husband with his Al Truran Orchestra.

She later went on to become a successful real estate agent and interior designer in Sarasota, Florida. Lois was very passionate about the arts and was an integral part of community theater in Massachusetts and Florida for many years.

Lois was a believer in Christ and an active member of Branches of Christ Community Church in Acworth, Georgia. She was a proud member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary and the American Business Women's Association.

Lois is survived by daughter Lauren Dean Truran, son Scott Allen Truran, daughter-in-law Karon Davis-Truran, grandchildren Brendan August Dermody, Megan Mary Dermody, Keara Elizabeth Dermody, Alissa Lombardi, Chase Augusta Truran and Kennedy Rose Truran as well as great-grandson Jackson James Dermody. Lois is predeceased by her husband Allen G. Truran and daughter Dr. Wendy Ann Truran.

An informal viewing will be held Friday 05/22/2020 from 9:00 am - 10:00 am at Georgia Funeral Care 4761 S Main St. Acworth, GA 30101. Lois will be laid to rest at her husband's site at the Georgia National Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at Branches of Christ Community Church and will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Lois' name to the Branches of Christ Community Church 5946 Jacobs Road SE, Acworth, GA 30102
