Raymond Joseph Krieger, Jr, 84, a devoted husband, beloved father and proud grandfather, passed away on February 25, 2025 in Marietta, GA, where he resided in retirement for the past 16 years along with his loving wife whom he was married to for 59 years. Ray was born on August 14, 1940 in Joliet, IL. He attended Joliet Catholic High School and the Milwaukee School of Engineering where he received his degree in Electrical Engineering. He was a true engineer in that he could and would fix anything and he passed that knowledge down to his two sons. Ray was also a highly skilled wood worker who handmade numerous pieces of fine furniture as well as toys for his grandchildren. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Krieger, Sr. and Kathryn Krieger (Sprader). He is survived by his wife, Mary (O’Neil), siblings Mary, Sister Margaret Krieger, OSF, Robert, his two sons Mike (Debbie) and Dan (Margaret), and his two grandchildren, Mary and Matthew, that he absolutely adored as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, March 6, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 87 Lacy Street, Marietta, GA 30060. Light refreshments will follow afterwards. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sisters of St. Francis of Mary Immaculate for the Joliet Franciscans (https://jolietfranciscans.org/giving/), where his sister, Margaret, has been a nun for over 70 years.
