Ms. Rita Elizabeth Spears, 70, of Marietta, Georgia, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on Friday, December 22, 2017.
Ms. Spears was born in Union, South Carolina on January 10, 1947 a daughter of the late Ernest Little Spears, Jr. and Vivian Hughes Spears. She had two daughters, Aimee and Elissa, with her late husband Harold Kinison of West Virginia. She spent her life modeling Christ’s love for others; she was bold, genuine, and championed the suffering souls she encountered on life’s harder path. Her laugh filled a room often vanquishing sorrow and despair from those touched by her compassion, bestowing strength in life’s storms, with an open, kind heart she freely offered to the downtrodden. She was brave and strong on reflex when many recoiled from threat and danger. Her caring touch could make a desolate spirit whole with charitable love. Rita spent her time loving, laughing, cooking, serving, and embracing God’s will in her heart. She had a warm, magnetic personality that pulled everyone closer to her and to Christ’s love.
Ms. Spears lives in the hearts she touched here that reflect to heaven. Now her spirit grows with the joy those hearts pass to others as it shines from her reward. She is survived by her daughters Aimee (Chris) Jackson, Elissa (Paul) Catellier, six grandchildren Marley, Fisher, Sadie, Harold, Maeve, Theodore, and her two brothers Ernest (Jane) Spears and John Spears. We pray the pain of our loss, and those who loved her is filled with God’s Grace and mercy.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, December 30, 2017, at Branches of Christ Church 5946 Jacobs Road Acworth, GA 30102. Arrangements will be taken care of by Georgia Funeral Care and Cremation Services.
