Robert Anderson White

d. July 28, 2024

Robert Anderson White passed away late Sunday, July 28, 2024, after an acquired illness ended his courageous lifelong struggle with kidney disease. He was 58 years old.

Born in Lynchburg, Virginia, Rob later lived in Miami, Florida, then High Point and Greenville, North Carolina, and Lynchburg again before settling in Atlanta, Georgia. He invariably made hosts of friends. A Guilford College graduate, he earned an M.S. in Geology from Georgia State and headed, as Professional Geologist, his own environmental consulting firm until dialysis precluded full-time work. He was a former officer of the Atlanta Geological Society and member of several dog-training organizations.  Rob was a seasoned outdoorsman whose greatest joy was training his own dogs both as hunting dogs and service dogs. As often as possible, he enjoyed helping to organize dog handling with cherished friends at Franklin County’s South Fork Hunting Preserve.  Those who knew him particularly remember Rob’s intelligence, kindness, generosity, compassion, and determination to find fun in every day.

He is survived by his adored daughter Grace White, his parents David and Betsy White, sister Liza Boswell, brother William White, and his beloved companions Billy and Big Spot.

In remembrance of Rob’s life, his family asks that any charitable donations be made to the Georgia Transplant Foundation or the National Kidney Foundation in his honor.
