Sharon Gregg Miller, 70, of Lake Hartwell, GA, passed away on Saturday November 11, 2017, at Halcyon Hospice in Atlanta, Georgia, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 11, 1947, in Asheville, NC, and spent much of her early life through the eighth grade in Swannanoa, NC. She was the daughter of the late Walter Gregg, Jr. and the late June McMahan Davenport . She was preceded in death by her husband, Kip Miller and a sister, Terry Davenport Ramie. Sharon is survived by her brother, Teddy Davenport and sister, April Davenport Gedney, both of Honolulu, Hawaii. In addition, she is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including friend and companion George Lemieux. Sharon graduated from W.T. Woodson High School in Fairfax, Virginia, in1965 and received a degree in Interior Design from Randolph Community College in Asheboro, NC. She was a show room designer for the Furniture Mart in High Point, NC, for many years. She loved Hawaii and was an independent interior designer in Honolulu for several years. She also worked for the Hawaii Pilots Association in Honolulu scheduling pilots for ship arrivals and departures. Sharon was a talented painter and had a passion for nature and art. She was a life-long Christian and her faith sustained her throughout her long battle with cancer.
Arrangements will be made for a Celebration of Life Service planned for the spring in Swannanoa, NC.
