Sonja Gooch

Gooch, Sonja, age 63, passed Saturday, April 9th 2022 surrounded by her family. She was born to Kathleen and Arthur Peters in San Diego California on October 4th 1958. She married Dale Gooch on May 15th 1982. They had four children Katie, Andrew, Benjamin, and Julie.

Sonja loved working with children and was a preschool teacher for many years. Sonja was passionate about cooking, murder mysteries, Coca-Cola, spending time with her family, and her church. She was a long time member of New Hope Baptist Church and a firm believer in Jesus.

Sonja will be remembered for her kindness, her loving heart, and her sense of humor. Sonja is survived by her husband, four children, three grandchildren, Mother, and three sisters.

Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of life gathering on Wednesday, April 13th at 11:00 AM at New Hope Baptist Church, located at 3814 New Hope Road SE Acworth GA 30102. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM.  In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
