Verbon Johnson

Verbon “Junior” Johnson, 84, of Cartersville, Georgia passed away peacefully at his

home surrounded by family on February 20, 2025. He retired from Shaw Industries after

34 years. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed hunting, and bowling. His greatest

pleasure was spending time with his grandkids and his beloved dog “Lil Man”.

He is preceded in death by his grandson Leroy Cole, his parents Verbon & Marie

Johnson, sisters Louise Collins & Alma “Sis” Collins, and brother James Johnson.

He is survived by his children Julie Johnson, Lori (Bobby) Cole, Jason (Jenny) Johnson;

grandchildren Trent (Mollie) Cole, Evan (Kenzie) Cole and Bree Cole; Dakota, Makayla,

Caitlin, Lucy and several great grandchildren; sisters Linda Roberts, Betty Shehutt and

Kimberly Carpenter Moore; along with many nieces and nephews.

A special thank you to his caregiver Ruth Johnson for all her love and support she gave

us. We also thank hospice for all of their services and care.

In lieu of flowers, if you wish to contribute to your local Alzheimer’s charity it would be

appreciated.

No funeral arrangements have been made at this time. A celebration of life will be

planned at a later date.
