Virginia Ann Jones

Virginia Ann Jones, 72, of Dandridge, TN, passed away on June 2nd, 2023, at Wellstar Tranquility, surrounded by her best friends, Shelia and Stacie. Virginia was retired from the Cobb County Board of Education and was a member of Gateway Baptist Church.

Virginia was born on April 25th, 1951, to the late Willie and Hazel Daugherty. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Jim, whom she adored. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene, and Pearlis Daugherty. Virginia is survived by a son, Wayne Garrison; step-children, Beverly Jones, Kyle Jones (Donna), and Kelvin Jones (Dana); eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brothers Clinton (Vicki) Daugherty of Dandridge, TN., Ray (Kathy) Daugherty of Matewan, WV., Bobby Daugherty of Lenore, WV., sisters Kathy (Curry) Anderson of Ashland, KY, Jackie (Edgar) Blankenship of Dandridge, TN, and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks to Pastor Chuck and Wilma, Sheila, Marsha, Ginger, and the other members of the Gateway Baptist Church for their prayers, love, and support given to Virginia and her family. Special thanks to Sheila and Stacie for being there for Virginia from the beginning to the end.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request donations be made to Gateway Baptist Church. Per Virginia’s request, cremation has taken place.
