Wendy Helen Greene, aged 63, passed this life on October 21,2017 at her home in Cartersville, GA with her family at her side. Wendy was born January 17, 1954, inNoblesville, Indiana (raised in Santa Barbara, California) the daughter ofGeorge and Rosemary Burgess.
Wendy was a caring and courageous dedicated mother andgrandmother. Family was Wendy’s passionand delight. She lived in Cartersville,GA where she enjoyed spending time daily with her granddaughter’s, Assata andBryana. The highlight of her week wastheir Friday Night “Movie Night”. She loved family dinners with hergranddaughters, daughter and son-in-law, especially when Norm made Salmon andCod. Wendy’s son, Doug, was one of hergreatest accomplishments so she always loved visits from him as he truly wasthe emotional mirror of herself. When she wasn’t with family, she enjoyed timewith friends, Joy and Billie Joe.
Wendy spent her summers in California at her brother’s home.She enjoyed California and the chance to visit the beach along with her mother,siblings, nieces and nephews. Sheparticularly enjoyed time spent during the summer with nephews Patrick andAndrew. She thought highly and admired Patrick for joining the military andserving our country.
Mrs. Greene is survived by mother, Rosemary Burgess of SantaBarbara, CA; son, Douglas Allen Guy Stearns of Durango, CO; daughter, Trudy LynKendrick and her husband, Norman of Cartersville, GA; brother, Robert Burgessand his wife Mary Ann of Santa Barbara, CA; sisters Dianne Lavenson and herhusband Dean of Louisville, KY, Tammy Burgess of Santa Barbara, CA, KarenBurgess of Oregon; Granddaughters Assata and Bryana Christman. Wendy had 3 nieces, Kelsey, April and Summeralong with 2 nephews Patrick and Andrew.
Wendy was preceded in Death by husband, Frank Greene III andfather George Burgess.
Wendy requested cremation and a private memorialservice. A memorial service will occurat the family’s home in Cartersville, GA on November 11, 2017. The family wishes to thank those who caredfor her during her last illness, specifically Kindred Hospice. The amount of support and guidance providedby Kindred Hospice was a Godsend.
