Sue was a loving mother, a spoiling grandmother, an animal lover, a great cook and loved the Holidays but most of all she loved spending time with her family. She went to her grandsons’ baseball games when they were younger and loved every minute of it! Sue was also a devoted Atlanta Braves fan and loved to talk baseball with anyone who would listen!!

Sue always had a small breed of dog by her side up until her health started declining. She would talk and treat them as well as she did her children and grandchildren! She also found a great pet in a stray cat that kept showing up and she fed him and loved him and always spoke of him with us as she would get to see him and let him come in and stay until he was ready to go and roam again outside.

Sue graduated High School at Sprayberry High School in 1954. She was an athlete as well participating in the game of Basketball, I think she was pretty good too!! Sue also was pretty feisty and passionate about things she believed in, she used her voice, A LOT, and shedid not play if her children misbehaved! We remember those switches, hahaha, and she got that trickfrom her mom, our Granny! We laugh about it now, but it wasn’t real funny back in the day! Her grandchildren even remember some discipline stories too!

Sue’s parents lived in Smyrna from 1959 – 1989. Sue and all of brothers and sisters, and all of their many children, made it a tradition to meet at their parents’ house usually on Sundays after church for a great meal where everyone would bring dishes and afterwards play Scrabble and Rook where the house would echo with laughter and jokes! This is where her children found their happy place and came to know the true meaning of FAMILY.

She worked for many years in the 1950’s – 1960’s for Bellsouth, 1970’s-1980’s for Homelite Division of Textron, 1990’s – 2000’s as an Office Manager for Zep Manufacturing and in 2002 she retired. She took care of her grandkids after she retired while her daughter worked and taught them life skills, helped with their homework and spoiled them rotten! Sue was a trooper, she survived a ruptured aorta, several back surgeries and a hip replacement. She had to slow down a bit after the hip surgery but never gave in to the pain and discomfort.

She loved her brothers and sisters and loved being a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church where the ladies group would make blankets for the homeless and elderly and deliver them every couple of months. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ and prayed for anyone and everyone daily.

Her faith was very important to her. She is flying high now with God and all those that have passed before her. She will forever be in our hearts and be missed every day.

She is survived by her 4 children: Daughters: Tami Smith (Husband Mike), Trina Davis (Wife Rhonda),Amber McNeeley (Husband James) Her Son: Andy McAdams 2 grandchildren: Garrett Cantrell, and Abigail McAdams; 1 great grandchild: Cooper Cantrell Brothers: Herman Stone (Wife Shirley), Johnny Stone Sister: Faye Moody (Husband Cecil) AND MANY nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews that she loved very much!

She is preceded in Death by: Her parents: Lester and Eula Stone, her brother Bill Stone (Wife Jane); Sisters: Lucille Martin, Jean Edmonds, Elsie Matlock, Sister-in-law: Lolly Stone, her 1st grandson Cody Cantrell.

We will welcome flowers as well as making a donation to the Humane Society of your choice or the ASPCA Foundation in honor of our mom, Sue McAdams.
