Amie Brown’s smile could light up the room. Her gentle, easy-going demeanor, adventurous spirit and love of Mt. Dew fueled her though life’s travels. She adored her family and was a faithful friend to many.
Amie Michelle Brown, 50, of Woodstock, Ga., joined her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 13, 2020, after a battle with metastatic breast cancer. She was born on June 6, 1970, in Marion, Ind., to Glenda (Vickers) Brown and Clyde Arthur Brown. Preceding her in death were her mother and sibling, Angela Brown. She is survived by her loving children, Gavin Nesbitt of Augusta, Ga., Hunter Nesbitt of Woodstock, Ga., and Sarah Layson of Woodstock, Ga; sister Tamara Maroney of Snellville, Ga., brother Raymond Arthur Brown of Gas City, Ind., and sister Epha (Samuel) Riche of Greenwood, Ind.
Amie grew up as a military brat, and as her father’s career in the Army took her around the world, she made lifelong friends along the way. Military life also offered her many unique experiences. Amie graduated from high school and went to prom in a castle in Wurzburg, Germany. She was a skilled gymnast and had the opportunity to travel to communist Russia and train for two weeks with the best gymnasts in the world. In Fort Hood, Texas, Amie found her country roots and her voice – her karaoke voice, that is. She could sing anything and sounded just like Reba McIntyre.
Amie was a major college football fan and enjoyed going to watch her favorite Georgia Bulldogs play at Sanford Stadium. In support of her team, she even had her own beloved bulldog, Munson.
Amie also enjoyed baking and cake decorating, and developed incredible decorating techniques for beautiful cakes, cookies, cupcakes and cake pops. She dreamed of opening her own store one day.
A small funeral service for family and close friends to Honor and Celebrate the Life of Amie Michelle Brown will be held outside at a family residence on Saturday afternoon, September 19, 2020. For additional details or to send condolences, please contact the family directly.
