She held a variety of clerical jobs in the local area, including one with Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation. She also worked for a time as a fashion model with Barbizon in New York City. She met her husband Richard and they married in 1959. After marrying, the two moved to the Los Angeles, California area to pursue the California dream and start a family. Following several local moves, they finally settled in Woodland Hills in a home that she would remain in for most of her life. In 2016, due to health issues, she moved to the Atlanta, Georgia area to be near her son David.
During her life she enjoyed playing tennis, was an avid reader, and enjoyed spending time by the coast in San Diego. She worked as both a legal secretary and executive secretary and finished up her working career by retiring from the Irell and Manella law firm at the age of 75 after 30 years with them. Arlie was divorced from her husband in 1975. Arlie was predeceased by both her parents (1986, 2002) and her brother Roland (2012). Arlie is survived by her only son David (Elaine) of Tucker, Georgia. Arlie touched the lives of a lot of people and was blessed to have wonderful people around her at the end, providing special, loving care. She will be missed by all who knew her.
In keeping with Arlie’s wishes, she will be cremated without any additional public services and her ashes will be scattered off the coast of Connecticut, to honor her love for the ocean
