Behrooz Akbari, 90, of Atlanta, GA passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on the morning of July 6, 2022. He was born on December 25, 1931, in Abadan Iran, where he was raised by his loving parents, Khoda Karam and Bibi Kaed. He came to the United States in his late teen years and served in the United States Army. After graduating from college he was a Chemical Engineer. He married Judith Ann Evans who was the mother of his four children. Behrooz was a self-made man who came from humble roots, but he was determined to be successful and take care of his family. Behrooz traveled the world and had a passion for different cultures. Behrooz was a devoted family man who enjoyed playing golf, tennis, and most of all playing cards. Behrooz never met a stranger and was often referred to as “The Mayor.” He will be remembered by all who knew him as a strong, dedicated, and loving family man. His impact was felt by all who knew him. He is survived by his children, Polly Hogue (David), Terry Clark (Terry), Carmen Titelman (Bob), and David Akbari (Cheri) all residing in Marietta GA. Also his five brothers and one sister. Lastly his 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on July 20, 2022, at 3 pm at Johnson Ferry Baptist Church, 955 Johnson Ferry Rd, Marietta 30068 with a reception to follow at the home of Carmen and Bob Titelman 146 Robin Rd SE, Marietta, 30067
