Ivey, Billy Lewis: Born March 1, 1930 Died October 11, 2018
Billy Ivey grew up in Chamblee, Ga. He was a graduate of Chamblee High School and attended North Georgia College on a baseball scholarship. Mr. Ivey served as a U S Marine. Following the Marine Corp., he began his career as a grading contractor, general contractor and real estate developer. Mr. Ivey had a great love of golf at Peachtree Golf Club. Mr. Ivey is a sixth generation descendant of Hardy Ivy, who was the first permanent settler of Atlanta, circa 1833.
Preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Londa Ivey and wife of 3 ½ years, Rosemary Ivey; his father, George H. Ivey, Sr., mother Lillie Mae Nash Ivey, brothers George H. Ivey, Sr, Harold Ivey and sisters Margaret Stusak and Mary Sawyer. Mr. Ivey is survived by his son, Chris Ivey (Cynthia) and daughter, Lisa Sullivan ( Walker Sullivan 111), three grandchildren, Walker Sullivan, IV, Taylor Sullivan, Shelby Ivey and sister Betty Saladna and multiple nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Arlington Cemetery 11:30 am. The family will receive friends at Cathedral of St. Philip in the Gould Room on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 6:00 – 8:00 pm.
