Carol Lynn Poole passed away peacefully under the loving care of Emory University Hospital Hospice, Saturday August 1, 2020. Born in Gardner Massachusetts on May 2, 1936, she began her adult life serving her country as a military wife for 16 years. She raised her sons as a single mother, as she began and finished her own career as a outstanding Office Manager in Georgia. She later settled in FL to retire and enjoy her family.
Carol is survived by her sister and brother-in law, Andrea and Bruce Tyson of Naples FL, her son Philip J Poole, daughter-in-law, Barbara L Poole, of Tucker GA, and the loves of her life, her grandchildren, Philip T and his wife Erin Poole of Grayson, GA, and Joseph Edward Poole of Tucker, GA, her son Craig L Poole of Conyers, GA, her extended family, Teresa, Daniel, Hannah, Kayla, and Rachel Tennyson of Ft Myers, FL and Michael Langston of Ft Myers, FL along with many friends. She was an accomplished figure skater and taught dance in her younger years.
Carol loved spending time with her family, and it would be hard to find a better chef! Her home was always beautifully well kept and her cooking was something we all looked forward to. Her specialty dishes we will miss, along with the way Carol did our holidays. She delighted in shopping for her “loves” and any gift given to you from Carol, was thoughtful, something you had mentioned to her previously in a conversation, and every present was always beautifully wrapped! That was Carol, she loved us all so much and we will miss her very tender heart. Carol was fierce bridge player, and loved that aspect of retirement with the “old people” as she told the boys when the were little!!! Her family requests in memory of Carol, if you have the opportunity please support any event or research leading to a cure for Alzheimer’s/Dementia.
