Diane Elaine Grier (Adams), 70, passed away on January 2, 2024, at Piedmont Cartersville Hospital, in Cartersville, Georgia. Diane was born June 6, 1953, in Buncombe County, North Carolina to the late JG and Betty Hensley. She met her husband, Richard Adams at WellStar Windy Hill Hospital, where he had a plane fly over the hospital, on Valentine’s Day, asking her to marry him, and they married in their front yard with family members present, on May 10, 2008.
Richard was the light of her life, serving as the Security Supervisor at Windy Hill, where they met. That rode was travelled both ways, because Richard knew he had met the love of his life. Diane dedicated her life to caring for people at Windy Hill Hospital. She was a true care giver to her patients, friends and family. Diane was loved by family, friends, patients and visitors alike. So much so, she was nominated as “The Best of the Best” and awarded the same as employees and staff voted to name her one of the “Best of the Best.”
Diane worked tirelessly at Windy Hill Hospital and with the VFW organization. Diane was a prayer partner to many workers at Windy Hill and gave her assistance to guest who may not had money to eat by giving them money to eat. She was a true believer of Christ and the power of prayer.
She was member of the Emerson Baptist Church and loved the gospel.
She is survived by her son, Josh and her husband Richard Adams, along with cousins and nephews. Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Betty & JG Hensley and her brother, Jay Gerald Hensley.
Diane was loved by many and will be truly missed.
