Dorothy (Dottie) Estes Bobo of Woodstock passed away October 26, 2018. She was born March 16, 1923 to Robert and Ruby Estes. Dottie, a native Atlantan ,attended North Avenue Presbyterian School, E. Rivers Grade School, North Fulton High School and Georgia State College. A lifelong member of North Avenue Presbyterian Church, Dottie met the love of her life, Georgia Tech student Barham F. Bobo , who visited North Avenue.
Dottie was a fixture at North Avenue, active in Presbyterian Women, where she always prepared fresh floral arrangements and decorations for church functions. In the 1970s, she organized the North Avenue Butterflies, ladies who came together to make holiday goody bags for shut ins and with Meals on Wheels; as well as birthday and holiday greetings to church members and the community.
Dottie is preceded in death by her husband Barham Francis Bobo and daughter Jennie Bobo Culbreth. She is survived by her son Barham Francis “Frank” Bobo Jr, son-in-law Timothy Earl Culbreth, granddaughter Patricia Ann Culbreth Brown (Paul), grandson Timothy Robert Culbreth (Heather), and three great-grandchildren Ryan Thomas Brown, Elizabeth Benson Brown, Althea Cleo Culbreth.
A memorial service with reception following will be held at North Avenue Presbyterian Church, 600 Peachtree Street in Atlanta on Saturday, November 3 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to North Avenue Presbyterian Church napc.org
