Ellen Louise Urbanus Dixon’s soul left her Earthly body on February 24, 2020, following a courageous, year-long battle with cancer. At only 68 years of age, Ellen is survived by her three children whom she loved, and who will always love her, beyond measure. She is also survived by her mother, three sisters, a life partner, and many grateful friends whose lives she touched along the way.
Ellen lived a life in selfless service to others, leaving an indelible mark on so many people who have described her as one of the kindest, sweetest, most generous, and most beautiful people they have ever known.
Ellen was remarkable, yet humble. She was soft spoken, yet she infected others with her vivacious laughter, smile, and spirit. She was a talented painter, crafter, seamstress, and quilter. She was a dancer, singer, traveler, and adventurer who loved long drives and shopping for treasures. She was smart, brave, and always there for anyone who needed her, whether during the day or in the middle of the night, always reminding them that, “you are not alone.”
In accordance with Ellen’s wishes, there will be no formal service held. Her ashes will be released in a beautiful, flowing body of water.
