the Farm in Louisville GA. Gene loved sports, fishing, wood working and Farming and loved shagging, was a member of Tau Kapp Epsilon Fraternity, After Daddy died Gene took over cooking his dads turkey and dressing On Thanksgiving at the farm.

In 1992 Gene Married Linda his wife of over 30 yrs. till his death Gene was the president of Hamby Place H.O.A for 8 yrs. Was well known for taking 92 pine trees down for a playground for the children of Hamby place. Gene had three children, Annette Hatt (Shawn) of Canton Ga Michael Popp (Pamela} of Chatsworth Ga. Nancy Lomax (David) Dalton Ga. Gene has one sister alive, Heidi Murphy of Louisville GA. Gene was blessed with 7 Grandchildren, Eva Ethan Zoe Kaden Sydney Hatt also Mckinzey and Trystin Popp. Nancy and David were expecting a baby boy at Genes passing.
