EUREKA (RICK) FLEMING BABB, 94, a resident of Kennesaw, GA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, February 26, 2020. Born January 16, 1926 in Conway, South Carolina, to Willie and Maude Fleming, she was one of 12 children (9 girls & 3 boys). Rick spent many hours working in the fields of their family farm. She would go on to graduate from Conway High School in 1944. She leaves one brother, Karl Densil Fleming (Janie) of Florida.
Eureka was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, James D. Babb. Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Wil Nichols (Jo Ann) of Arizona and Ken Nichols (Terry) of Virginia, and a step-daughter, Debra Babb of New Hampshire. Eureka also leaves grandchildren Jeff Dusseault, Matthew Nichols, Deborah Colleen White, Caroline Nelson-Nichols, Christopher Nichols; great-grandchildren, James Nichols, Brantley Nelson-Nichols, and Morgan Dusseault; and many, many nieces and nephews.
After moving to Kennesaw, Eureka worked in the Media Center at Autrey Middle School. Eureka was an active member of Kennesaw First Baptist Church. For over 40 years she worked in the nursery, taught Sunday school, worked with teens, and was fondly known by many as the “Smoothie Lady”. Jim and Eureka loved to travel and camp after they retired. She enjoyed writing, crafting, working in the yard, and canning what they grew in their garden. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kennesaw First Baptist Church. A Celebration of Life service for Jim and Eureka will be held on March 21, 2020, 1:00 PM, at Kennesaw First Baptist Church, 2958 North Main Street, Kennesaw, GA 30144.
