It is with a mixture of profound sadness and boundless joywe say goodbye to one of the greatest men we have ever known, George StevensIII. Sadness because we will miss him dearly, and joy because we know he hasshed the bonds of this earthly plane and is now with his loving Creator andSavior.

George was born on July 25, 1934 and left this world behindon June 3, 2019. In his almost 85 years here he lived an extraordinary life.Extraordinary not for some momentous achievement in business or the arts, butrather for the positive impact he made on almost everyone who was fortunate toknow him. For some it was his humor, he was quick with a joke or funny comment.For others it was his integrity, he was a man of character and honesty. Forstill others it was his steadfast dependability, his word was his bond and hewas a man you could count on.

For those of us who knew him as Husband, Daddy or Grandpa itwas his unconditional and seemingly limitless love. For his wife of over 60years, Barbara Jean Garvin Stevens, George was provider, protector, lover andbest friend. For his children Bryan, Lisa, Bobby and Tara, he was a Daddy whonever let there be any doubt as to his love for each of them 

As his children grew up and got married George’s love grew toinclude 2 new sons in Larry and Dennis and 2 daughters in Jenny and Shannon.And his love continued to grow with the addition of each new grandchild: Eric,Brooks, Robby- and then his wife Lexi, Luke, Todd, Josh, Cody, Liam, Aaron andElla. 

So, we invite you to join us in a celebration of George’slife and legacy of love. We’ll be honoring him at 2 PM on Saturday, June 15,2019 at: Beulah Baptist Church, 11491 VeteransMemorial Hwy. Douglasville, GA 30134

Please note: instead of flowers, George would be honored ifyou would make a donation in his name to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital or someother charity of your choice that benefits children. Children always made himsmile.
