Georgia Funeral Care would like to congratulate a very special young man; Issac Dukes. Issac contacted us several weeks ago to partner with him as part of his Eagle Scout Project. Issac wanted to collect worn and tattered flags to be retired. He would collect the tattered flags and then donate them to our funeral home as part of our "Retire Your Flag" program. The flags that are collected drape veterans who have passed away and they are cremated together. This retires the flag in a proper manner while honoring a military hero. Here is Issac's story:
My name is Isaac Dukes II. I’m a boy scout that’s a part of troop 687 and I’m also 18 years old. I got into a life changing wreck that set me back a lot so therefore that’s why I’m 18 and still working on Eagle due to an extension. I attend the University of West Georgia majoring in psychology. I am pursuing at this time, for my Eagle Scout Project, I collected flags from troop members and from other people / places. The flags that have been collected were folded and will be retired by giving them to Georgia Funeral Care and Cremation Services to be cremated with veterans who have passed away.
