Mrs. Betty J. Rodgers (Janie), 68, recently of Marietta, GA passed away on November 20, 2021. She was born in Cartersville, GA, and lived in Dalton, GA for over 35 years. She worked for A.A. Vending / Five Star Food Services for more than 33 years and Kroger for more than 5 years. Family was her driving force. She was likely to be found playing board games, playing pretend cooking / dress up, or in the stands/audience for sports and school performances. She loved celebrating birthdays and holidays with everyone. Outside her family/friends, her favorite things were gardening, NASCAR, and country music. Her love of Mark Martin and T.G. Sheppard was widely known by all who knew her.
Janie was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Scotty D. Rodgers, mother Ellen Grey Battles, father Robert Battles, sister Velma Hyde, nephew Joseph Matthews, nieces Debra Hyde and Rebecca Matthews. She is survived by sister Bobbie Lewis (Jerry), daughters Cindy Conner (Eric), Jennifer Martin, son Jeff Rodgers (Sarah), grandchildren: Christina Officer (Jerry Hillhouse), Hannah Craft (James), Floyd Officer, Breanna Rodgers, Hunter Rodgers, and Aidan Conner. She is also survived by her great-granddaughters: Lillie Hufstetler, Stella Hillhouse, and Gracie Seelandt, nieces Mandy Walker, Missy Rodgers, and Danielle Seelandt, nephews Randy Hyde and Kristian Rodgers.
She has chosen a “green burial” and will be interred at Honey Creek Woodlands at the Monastery of the Holy Spirit in Conyers, GA.
