James Lee Proctor

James “Jim” Lee Proctor, of Roswell, GA., passed away Saturday, September 18, 2021, in Wellstar North Fulton Hospital after an unexpected cardiac arrest. Jim was born on April 10, 1947, in Lansing, Michigan. The family moved to San Jose, California when Jim was 8 years old.

Jim graduated from Pioneer High School, San Jose, CA. in 1965 and attended classes in several colleges while living in California. Jim served in the U. S., Army from 1966 to 1968 as Private First Class E-3. He moved to Atlanta, GA., in the fall of 1993 where he resided for the remainder of years.

Jim held various careers throughout his lifetime. Amongst those, he worked as a Property Manager, Hotel General Manager, Alcohol and Wine Distributor for the S. E. Region of the United States. His favorite positions were in the wine industry. He was Certified at UC Davis in winemaking. He ran his own company in wine tasting events. As a wine sommelier, he loved educating and hosting many special events in the Atlanta area.

Throughout his life, he loved football and was a loyal fan of the San Francisco 49’ers.

He also loved boating, golfing had a special passion for all types of music.

Jim enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor and ever-present radiant smile.

He is survived by his son, Justin James Proctor (Nicole) of Northern California, his older brother, Jack Douglas Proctor of Nevada, his nephew Scott Douglas Proctor (Leah), his sister, Judy Lynn Bruce (Bill), and his nephews Michael Anthony Del Pizzo and Matthew John Del Pizzo, and nephews Cole and Cade Proctor and niece Mackenzie Del Pizzo.

He never knew a stranger and was dearly loved by many.

A private celebration of his life with family is being planned for a later date.
