Jane Figley Clark, 91, of Atlanta Georgia passed away Wednesday July 18th, at Hospice Atlanta after a brief illness. Jane was born in Evanston Illinois to Orville and Ada Figley on April 16th, 1927. Jane earned a BS in Chemistry from Northwestern University in Evanston. Upon graduation she joined Abbot Laboratories where she met her late husband Robert Kingsbury Clark.
Later in life, Jane returned to school to pursue her passion, obtaining a Masters of Library Science Degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida. Upon relocating to Atlanta in 1975 she worked as a Research Librarian for several organizations in the Atlanta area including Georgia Tech, SSEB and Fernbank Science Center. Jane was also an active volunteer at Northside Hospital where she served on the Auxiliary for 35 years. An avid sports fan and participant, Jane enjoyed bowling, golf and later in life cheering for the Braves and Cubs.
Survivors include her daughters Mary Elizabeth of Arcadia California, Margaret Ann of Atlanta and son David Robert, his spouse Kerri Lynn, and Jane’s granddaughters Alexandra and Caroline who all reside in Atlanta.
The family of Jane wishes to extend their gratitude to all the friends, caregivers and the staff at Hospice Atlanta who helped to make her last year full of love and comfort.
The family will be hosting a Memorial Service celebrating Jane’s life at the Hospice Atlanta Center on Saturday July 28, 2018 at 11AM.
