Janet Marie Duncan, 71, of Kennesaw Georgia, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2018. Janet is survived by her two daughters, Leslie Monk (Dennis) and Lori Wetherington (Rob) and four lively grandchildren: Paige, Leah, Jeremy and Sylvia. She is also survived by her brothers Roger Fox (Diane), Bill Fox (Jill) and Doug Fox and nieces and nephews: Terrell Fox, Alisa Chambers (Jeff), Marcella Fox and Roger Allen Fox.
Born in Lafayette, Indiana in 1947, Janet was raised in a military family living in multiple cities. She spent most of her adult life in the Atlanta area and in Simpsonville, SC. Janet enjoyed several careers, in addition to raising her daughters, from serving as a LPN at a clinic in Nashville, to entrepreneurship as an artist, building stained glass windows and doors for private residences, to working in service, sales and administration at Fuji Film both in Georgia and South Carolina. Janet retired at an early age due to an injury and spent several years serving as a Guardian ad litem, helping children for the state of South Carolina. Her favorite hobbies included reading, stained glass, knitting and lifelong friends.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 30 at 12pm at the Georgia Funeral Care chapel at 4671 S. Main St., Acworth, GA 30101. Friends and family will gather afterwards at her daughter’s house to enjoy fond memories together.
In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates donations made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
