Mr. Jean-Louis (Lou) Hautvas died unexpectedly on July 31, 2018 at the age of 66.
Lou is survived by his wife, Joann Austin; son, Geoffrey Hautvas (Delphine); daughter, Geraldine Hautvas; son, Matthieu Hautvas; son, Thibault Hautvas; step-son, Jay Reger; step-son, Thomas Snowden; step-daughter, Lindsay Snowden Meltzer (Alex); sister, Fabienne Hautvas; brother, Serge Hautvas; and granddaughters, Emmy, Justice and Layla. He is preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Rosalie (Haegdorens) Hautvas.
Lou was born in Belgium to Theodore and Rosalie. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Language; being fluent in 4 languages. In 2006, he married Joann and moved to Acworth, GA. He was employed by Advito/BCD travel.
Having worked in the airline business for over 30 years, Lou became an avid traveler. During his employment with the airlines, Lou became a family friend to the Austin and the Prewett families. He made regular visits to the United States from Belgium before marrying Joann. Lou was a wonderful husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, and friend who will be missed dearly.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 5, 2018, 2:00 PM with a visitation starting at 1 PM prior to the service, at Mars Hill Presbyterian Church, Acworth, GA. with Pastor Bryant Harris officiating.
