Jim Barlow age 64 of Cartersville, GA passed away after a short-fought battle with Pancreatic Cancer at 6:30am on Sunday, March 7, 2021.
Proceeded in his death are his Grandmother Anna Shae, Grandfather Richard Shae, Brother John Barlow, Sister Sally Martin, and oldest Son Benjamin Barlow.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years Kathy Barlow, sons Leevi and Josh Barlow, Daughter-In-Law Amanda Barlow, Grandbabies Peyton, Lorelai, Jeremiah and Benjamin Barlow, Sisters Kathy Dolph, Anna Braddy, Rebecca Frashier and Sarah Lancaster, Grand-fur-babies Marley and Stitches Barlow.
Jim Barlow was born on January 21, 1957 in Denver Colorado. He met his wife in Texas and moved to Georgia with his close friends Donnie and Tammy Lewallen and Peggy and Larry Lewallen to start construction on White Water. They then laid their roots here in Georgia. Jim worked for Lewallen Construction Company in Marietta Georgia for over 30 years. His concrete and rock work were amazing.
Many people often referred to Jim as “Big Beard” and/or “Mountain Man” because of his beard and his overall love for the outdoors. He just looked like a man from the mountains. Jim often said the best things in his life was his family who he loved whole heartedly. He loved being outdoors with his grandkids always playing basketball with them, attending Baseball, Softball and Football games. His boys Benjamin, Leevi and Josh were his greatest accomplishments in life. Jim was saved and baptized in 2018 at his beloved church, Freedom Church, where he attended every Sunday Morning at 8:30am.
Funeral Services will be held at Georgia Funeral Care in Acworth, GA on Friday, March 12, 2021. Visitation will be held from 3:00pm to 5:00pm and the Honoring of Jim’s life starting at 5:00pm with the service being led by Pastor Todd Lollis.
