Joan Emerson Krohn passed away on October 5, 2022, in Kennesaw, Georgia. She was born November 14, 1926, to Tom and Carrie Emerson of Bolivar, Tennessee. After high school, she worked as a switchboard operator in Memphis, Tennessee. She later married Jim Krohn and moved to St. Louis, Missouri. She and Jim began a commercial lighting business which they ran for many years. It was a family business with both of their sons working and Joan serving as a bookkeeper. Joan remained in St. Louis until around 2015 and then moved to Jackson, Tennessee to be closer to family. Joan was very active in her Baptist church and always enjoyed fellowship there. She moved to Kennesaw, Georgia to live with her niece and nephew-in-law in February 2022. Joan was a very sweet, kind, humble, and gentle woman. She was selfless in all she did and was always willing to put others first. She will be greatly missed by her family. Joan is preceded in death by her husband Jim Krohn, son Robert Krohn, Sisters Betty Emerson and Jane Emerson Jones, and Brother Thomas Emerson. She is survived by her son William Krohn, Sisters Joyce Emerson Ray, and Sue Emerson Vincent, Brother Daniel Emerson, and many nieces and nephews.
