Jory Naylund Woods passed away on Saturday, March 24th, 2018. Mr. Woods was born at City Hospital of Akron on May 9, 1950 in Akron, Ohio to Charlotte F. White and Sidney L. Woods both deceased. Mr. Woods was married to his second wife Debra J Hutchins in 1994. They were married for 23 years and help raise his step-son, Randy L Hutchins of Atlanta, Ga and he help raise his wife niece Mary A Mitchell Luke of Newnan, GA. He also had two children from his previous marriage, Jory Woods Jr and Jennifer Woods.
Jory is also survived by his siblings Leroice Lewis, Patricia Woods, Gerald Woods, Donald Woods, and his favorite cousin Carl Brazelton, Nieces & Nephews. He graduated from Buchtel High School in 1968 and attended West L.A. College (Major in Arts). He served in the US Air Force from 1972-1979 during which time he spent 3 years 2 months as a Commend & Control Specialist and 4 years as a Medical Admin Specialist during the Vietnam War. Most of his adult life he spent working in Construction and Grocery field.
Mr. Woods moved to Atlanta, GA in the early 90’s. In the last few years of his life, he resided in Lagrange, Georgia where he suffered from an major stroke in 2006 and was moved to Georgia War Veteran Home in Milledgeville, GA. He will be remembered as a kind, strong, loving man with a great smile & laughter who never knew a stranger. He loved his family, God and Horse & Dog racing. He will be missed!
