Kenneth D Wilson, 84, passed away on May 3, 2020 in Canton, GA of natural causes. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Emily Wilson (Bradley), daughter, Kim Blair, son-in-law Bill Blair, step granddaughter Gabrielle Wolff and great grandchildren Brendan, Jozelyn and Gavin Wolff.
Ken, or Don as he was known to some, grew up in Mt. Vernon, IN. He was the son of Kenneth F. and Hazel Wilson. He was a very proud Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He retired from Alcoa, loved staying active in the local union and on the board of directors at Heritage Federal Credit Union.
He most loved being an aviation historian, author and modeler. He was the local authority on the Evansville Division of Republic Aviation plant. He spent untold hours researching each P-47 that came off the line, interviewing past employees and keeping meticulous records. He also enjoyed donating his time to Willard Library and the Evansville Museum giving lectures and drafting.. .
