MAGGERT, Kurtiss Gayle, age 76, passed away Sunday, May 12, 2019 surrounded by family. Kurt was born to Harold Gayle and Maxine Ruth Maggert on July 27, 1942 in Elkader, Iowa.
He served in the Navy during Vietnam and loved his country. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and would help anyone in need. In his earlier years as a father, he loved to fish, hunt, and restore cars with his boys.
He will forever be remembered as a grandpa who loved pasta salad, Cheetos, red tootsie pops, giving indian burns, word searches, and playing tiddly winks. Kurt is survived by brothers, Rich, Mick, and Denny Maggert; half sisters Phyllis Tate and Bernice Squires; half brother Lynn Maggert; sons Kevin and Kyle Maggert; grandchildren Brittanie Kelly (husband Spencer), Makayla, Madison, Bethany, Corbitt, and Callista Maggert; and great granddaughter Kinslee Kelly. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Sharon Maggert, brother Terry Maggert, and half sister Kathleen Berger.
Funeral services will be held at the Georgia National Cemetery on May 23 at 1:30 PM.
